Edward was born into an Amish family in Tennessee, where he learned the values of hard work and family. At 15, his family moved to Alaska’s outback, and at 17, he joined on as crew aboard his first fishing season. By 21, Edward became one of the youngest captains in the industry, leading with both skill and dedication. Over the years, he documented the fishing lifestyle, illustrating that for him, fishing was more than a job, it was a calling. Through daunting challenges at sea, he carried on. In time, he helped his brothers carve their own paths in the industry. Edward remains both grateful for his roots and committed to the future of his craft.
